Kevin Callahan was a highly decorated 17 year veteran of the Lawrence Police Department when he died; December 7th, 2005. Kevin became certified as an Emergency Medical Technician serving the cities of Lawrence and Lowell. He joined the Lawrence Police Department in 1988 attending the Massachusetts Police Academy in Somerville, where he graduated as valedictorian of his class. During his time on the Lawrence Police Department he received numerous awards and medals including the Medal of Valor and several Life Saving Medals. Kevin was also an accomplished and gifted musician. He also donated his time and talents to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, The Boston Catholic Television Channel, St. Michael's, St. Patrick's, Holy Rosary and Corpus Christi parishes over the years as a musician and singer for masses, funerals and charity benefits. He is missed by all who knew him and is remembered as a great friend, caring police officer, and a dedicated, loving husband to Cindy as well as a great father and role model to his children, Benjamin and Emily.
